Registrar's Circular No. 18 2020

Extension of pilot programmes for asynchronous hearings implemented under Registrar’s Circulars No 11 and 13 of 2020.

1. Registrar’s Circulars Nos. 11 and 13 of 2020 introduced, with effect from 8 June 2020 and 13 July 2020 respectively, the dispensation of attendance of counsel and/or parties at specified civil hearings and the asynchronous processing and hearing of various categories of civil interlocutory matters.

2. As part of the continuing efforts to streamline proceedings and reduce physical hearings:

the pilot programmes implemented via Registrar’s Circular No. 11 of 2020 will be extended from 9 December 2020 to 9 June 2021 (both dates included); and
the pilot programmes implemented via Registrar’s Circular No. 13 of 2020 will be extended from 14 January 2021 to 14 July 2021 (both dates included).
