Amendment No. 2 of 2021

Amendment No. 2 of 2021 of the Practice Directions contains amendments to Part I, Part III, Part IV, Part XII, Part XX and Appendices A and C of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. It also introduces a new Part XXIV of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. The amendments are summarised below:

1. introduction of new paragraph 1B on References to repealed provisions of written laws;
2. amendments to paragraph 30 on Originating Summonses;
3. amendments to paragraph 38 on Summonses to be heard in open Court;
4. amendments to paragraph 93 on Scope of certain paragraphs;
5. amendments to paragraph 98 on Taxations involving the Official Assignee, the Official Receiver, the Public Trustee or the Director of Legal Aid;
6. amendments to paragraph 143 on Bankruptcy applications;
7. amendments to paragraph 144 on Applications to set aside statutory demands made under the Bankruptcy Rules or the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution (Personal Insolvency) Rules 2020;
8. amendments to paragraph 145 on Judicial Management and Winding Up applications under the Companies Act or the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018;
9. amendments to paragraph 146 on Documents for use in open Court trials of contested winding-up applications;
10. introduction of new paragraph 159 on Reference to Actuarial Tables for the Assessment of Damages in Personal Injury and Death Claims;
11. amendments to Form 11B (Questionnaire for the Examination of (Name of Officer of Judgment Debtor)) under Appendix A; and
12. amendments to Sample Bills of Costs for non-contentious matters under Appendix C.
