In view of the Chinese New Year public holiday, there will be a special sitting of the Criminal Mentions Court on Sunday, 26 January 2020, in Court No. 4A.
This special sitting, presided by a District Judge, will enable constitutional and statutory compliance by the investigation agencies to produce all arrested persons before a Magistrate within 48 hours. There will also be a Field Magistrate and Field Coroner on duty during this period.
The District Judge on duty will enable arrested persons to be produced before the Court on
26 January 2020 and, where appropriate, for them to be released on bail. The Field Coroner will attend to any scene of crime and grant approvals for organ donation under the relevant statutes.
These special arrangements are in furtherance of the State Courts' mission to administer justice.
