Argentina and Brazil – Latest to join the Judicial Insolvency Network

18 September 2017 – Judges of the National Commercial Court, Bueno Aires, Argentina and the Sao Paulo State Court of Justice, First Bankruptcy Court of Sao Paulo, Brazil are the latest members of the Judicial Insolvency Network (“JIN”).

2. The addition of Argentina and Brazil is a significant development as it marks the expansion of the JIN into Latin America, a first for this growing network of insolvency judges from key commercial jurisdictions and economies. With their inclusion, the JIN now comprises judges from over 10 jurisdictions including (in alphabetical order) Australia (Federal Court and New South Wales), Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Canada (Ontario), the Cayman Islands, England & Wales, Singapore, and the United States of America (Delaware and Southern District of New York).

3. The JIN, a network of leading insolvency judges from around the world, aims to encourage communication and cooperation amongst national courts by pulling together the best practices in cross-border restructuring and insolvency to facilitate cross-court communication and cooperation, which has become critical in today’s increasingly globalised economy.
